Silicic acid thin-layer chromatography of conjugated and free bile acids.

چکیده
The separation of free bile acids, taurine conjugates, and glycine conjugates from one another was achieved by thin-layer chromatography, using a solvent system of isopropanol glacial acetic acid 93:7 in a solvent system of hexane-methylethylketone-glacial acetic acid 56:36:8 (v/v), it was possible to separate cholic, chenodeoxycholic, deoxycholic, and lithocholic acids. Application to a biological bile sample was demonstrated.

A novel method for the separation and identification of bile acids and phospholipids of bile on thin-layer chromatograms.
Cholesterol gallstone disease, so common in the western world, ‘has consider&le medical and economic importance. Under normal physiological conditions, cholesterol is held in solution in the bile. If the solubility of cholesterol in bile is changed, cholesterol crystals will precipitate and lead to the formation of gallstones. The solubility of cholesterol in bile depends on three major lipid c...
متن کاملDetermination of individual conjugated bile acids in human bile.
A method has been developed and validated for the determination of the six major conjugated bile acids, cholesterol, and total phospholipids in bile of human subjects previously injected with 4-(14)C-cholesterol. The procedure is designed for use with 5-10 ml of duodenal or T-tube bile and eliminates difficulties associated with existing methods for bile acid determination, in particular the re...
متن کاملPostprandial concentrations of free and conjugated bile acids down the length of the normal human small intestine.
Small intestinal samples were obtained by intubation from multiple sites along the small intestine in 11 subjects with no known gastrointestinal disease eating a normal diet and at laparotomy in a further three subjects. Free (unconjugated) bile acids were consistently demonstrated in ileal samples, and occasionally in lower jejunal samples, by thin-layer chromatography, supplemented in some ca...
متن کاملThin - layer chromatography of bile acids *
Prepara t ive separation of bile acids has been achieved by adsorption and partition chromatography, and microscale separations have been made by various paper-chromatographic methods (1). Using these methods, good separations and acceptable sensitivity can be achieved. Methods are lacking, however, that permit rapid qualitative analysis of a large number of samples; e.g., for the monitoring of...
متن کاملThe feaTures of bile acids exchange in raTs under The influence of corviTin
Corvitin is a soluble form of quercetin (QUE) and its effects are based on the ability to inhibit the activity of 5-lipoxygenase and to block the formation of leukotrienes. Corvitin increases bloodflow in the stomach , pancreas and liver, but its influence on the excretory liver function has not been studied. We investigated the effect of corvitin (2.5, 5, 10 mg/kg intraportally) on bile format...
